The Day of Remembrance and Reception was established in 2016 to remember the 3 October 2013, in which 368 migrants lost their lives in a shipwreck off the coast of Lampedusa. The history of these years has witnessed a generalised behaviour of complicit indifference and an absolute criminalisation of those who flee their country of origin looking for a better future.
